What does Systemic Family Therapy mean?
Systemic Therapy has its origins in Family Therapy. It sees people in their relevant relationships, across the generations and recognizes the significance of the interaction of groups and their patterns and dynamics.
The systemic approach views individuals as experts in their own life and learning. Symptoms are seen as attempts to find solutions to life difficulties rather than as "illness", and as providing opportunities to introduce new perspectives and explore options. Appreciation and respect in conversation and attitude enable individual inner healing processes so that ways for self-regulation can be developed.
